GMUND in Motion 2020

Paper Culture and Passion @GMUND

The industrial production of paper began with the invention of the paper machine in 1799. The Gmund paper mill on Lake Tegernsee has been in existence nearly as long. Johann Nepomuk Haas established his paper factory in the valley of the Mangfall River in 1829. The company has been family-owned ever since and is currently directed by Florian Kohler, who belongs to the fourth generation of the Kohler family. Gmund Paper can look back on 190 years of change and progress.

The paper machine and the picturesque Mangfall Valley have remained, but the company has changed completely. With its paper collections, Gmund Paper has conquered the global market for high-quality print communication, exclusive packaging, brochures and annual reports. From Gmund, trends are set all over the world, while always upholding the highest standards of quality. The company’s management focuses on innovation, design and ecology.

Anyone who looks behind the scenes at this nearly 200-year-old company discovers a highly technical operation that exports approximately 75% of its papers to more than 70 countries worldwide.
