Gmund will be partner of the GreenTec Awards 2016
12. April 2016

The online voters and the jury have decided. The nominees for the GreenTec Awards 2016 have been chosen.

Outstanding projects that help to preserve our environment and improve the quality of life are nominated annually for Europe’s biggest environmental prize: 100,000 registered ballots were cast online and a high-carat jury consisting of 72 representatives from the worlds of business, science, associations and media convened in Berlin at the end of February to choose the three best projects in each of 17 categories. The decisions were primarily based on ecology, innovation and efficiency.

"Cleverly designed ecological systems and interesting sustainable projects were submitted this year. I’m always excited to see other industries or startups devising good ideas for sustainable business. We’re currently investing in new and highly efficient machinery, and the themes of recycling, water consumption and our own regenerative energy sources are the focus of our paper manufacturing. We strictly comply with our Environmental Charta, which confirms, for example, that we reduced our water consumption by 70% through acquisition of an ozone water-cleansing system," explains fourth-generation papermaker Florian Kohler, who is also a member of the GreenTec Awards’ jury.

The finalists of the GreenTec Awards will be announced at a big gala event in Munich on May 29th, which will again be the time to to roll out the Green Carpet and eagerly await the exciting moment when the moderator proclaims: "And the winner is...."
