Masculine red

In ancient cultures red was the color of masculinity

Red represents masculine attributes such as strength, activeness and aggression as well as the element of fire. Light blue, on the other hand, represents the element of water and thus femininity. Only since the 1920s was pink devoted to little girls and light blue to little boys. We can only wonder at our quizzical intake of the infant Jesus portrayed in his little pink clothed shirt and his mother in her blue dress.
